CS by a long shot, but I sure did play a lot of Q3A too. I liked the way CS matured gradually too. Through the weapon-runs of early versions, to the quirky times of hostage jumping and circle jumping, to the mysteriously rigid upright character models of 1.0. All good times.

I was in a clan as well, the += (Bloody Greeks). We were in the top10 clanbase for quite a while and had a great time. Still remember some of our late-night trainings, so much fun [xmasthumbup]

Used to make some maps for UT as well but they're rubbish

    I sure miss those days...

Re: 1999 - Best Multiplayer only FPS

In 1999, I loved Unreal Tournament the most by far. I had no internet, so CS and TF were ruled out, leaving Q3 and UT. Quake Arena was shallow and crazy, Unreal Tournament was awesome cool.

Over time, as I learned the player physics of Quake Arena, that game grew on me. Unreal Tournament however became stale. Around 2003/2004, I still enjoyed UT2003 and UT2004, but I already preferred the one on one deathmatch fights from Quake Arena.

Since then, Q3 has been my favorite.

These days I play a bit of Counter-Strike: Source every now and then. Also, occasionally I'll return to Quake Arena for two weeks and play some deathmatch games against bots, just to feel like Neo in The Matrix again. Unreal Tournament I'll probably never install again.

Funnily enough, I still consider Unreal Tournament the best all-round package of the set. I just personally don't enjoy it anymore.

I didn't play much of those but definitely Team Fortress 1, with most strategy (as I see it) and less play-too-much-to-learn..
