Trumpet players?

I played the trumpet for a few years during my youth and have decided I would like to play it a little again (to the point of impressing my wife not become a professional). I'm essentially starting from scratch because it has been so long since I've played. I'd appreciate any helpful practice techniques or songs to help me along. I've been looking for free sheet music but it all seems so boring. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place?

I've played for about 10 years. Haven't played in a band for at least 3, and I do miss it. I bugle for our Legion every year on Remembrance Day (bugler drinks free all day [thumbup]).

As for music, I used Finale to convert MIDI files. I'd find a MIDI of something I like and then convert it and transpose to the range I wanted. Did that for years!

I used that site in school for performance pieces. Might be too difficult to start out again, not sure. Anyway, best of luck!

I hear that People used to fight over parts in my High School band. I was happy with my 2nd and 3rd parts, liked the challenge of counter melodies. Let the prima-donnas fight over their precious 1st parts. [surrender]
