I really do disaprove of speed camera's though, i think it was Clarkson who said accidents have actually increased where they put the cameras in, which makes sense because you end up concentrating on your speedo and not the road![]()
In my area it's funny to see everyone going pretty quick and as soon as everyone spots the camera they drive so slow then as they go around the corner out of sight they all speed up again
Most speed camera are pointless, they say they are there to protect people but I have not seen 1 near schools, I always see them on motorways or big empty roads [cursing] [cursing]
Thieving bloody government [cursing]

Read that, has quite a lot of evidence showing that some cameras are there inputted for revenue. Especially country side roads where theres little to no chance of actually hurting anyone (besides probably other road users)
Plus has a VERY large collection of destroyed speed cameras. [rofl]
Nice site, love the destroyed cameras [thumbup]
6 points, Been driving for about 8 years, Had a clean licence until about year and a half ago.
First time picked up 3 points was when I'd just finished a night shift on a friday night, and next mroning on the saturday, the missus decides she wants to go shopping, so we go to the nearest major town, and on the way back my daughters annoying me, bloody back seat drivers, and I miss the "arrive alive" van parked at the side of the road, so get caught doing 34mph in 30mph zone.
Last time was, I'm coming outta this village and even though there are no signs to indicate the 30mph limit has finished, I assumed it was a 40 limit, cos a mile up the road there is a 40mph stretch of road, so I'm going up this hill and some pratt in Golf GTI 16v comes roaring up my ass, so I increased speed slightly, to widen the gap, he's so close I can't even see his lights, in my rear view mirror, and just as I get to the top of the hill, another "arrive alive" van is
sitting there, not more than 10 feet from where the 30mph zone finishes and the 40mph starts,
Thats bloody entrapment, b@stards.
What makes it worse is that there are no houses either side of the road only high walls.
So its not even a built up area.
In towns and villages, I always drive below 30mph, but on dual carriageways and motorways, I usually exceed 80mph, unless I have my family with me, then I stick to 70mph, and if my mother-in-law is in the car and watching me "like a hawk" I never go over 50mph ,cos it makes her sick...apparently!
Agreed 100%. If they really care about the safety on the roads, then they would put these cameras in accident hotspots, not in stupid places where accidents don't happen frequently or empty motorways like in Scotland for example. [thumbdown]Originally Posted by Radeon123
In a nearby village where i'm at, everyone travels around 30mph always and, even without a speed camera about, they still decide to put a fookin' speed camera there. [thumbdown]
Also another thing, there are less than 10 accident hotspot areas in the entire country where a speed camera has been placed. Loads elsewhere in pointless places. [thumbdown]

Heh heh, try the country lanes on the north coast of scotland, I could go out any time of day and do 80 all the way to town and not see another single car until i get there.Originally Posted by GamerG
