Anybody got any news on very high end am2 coolers coming? I know the zalman is nice and all but its too big for what i want. I want your basic style heatpipe cooler where the fan blows down not sideways.

well, for 5$ shipped, i got an LGA 775 adapter for my xp 120, im assuming they will have one for the AM2 platform as well, yay to using coolers across different platforms and even processor brands! :). otherwise, zalman has a 9500 on AM2, looks freaking sweet, because its all aluminum.
You should be able to fit a ThermalRight on there (may take a little creativity). As long as the holes are the same width apart as the 754/939 it'll be a cake walk.Originally Posted by radzero

Good news for XP series ownersThe AM2 RM is designed to make use with Thermalright HR-01, Ultra-90, and SI-97A heatsinks only. It's not compatible with XP-series and SI-120 model.
*AM2 RM Rev.B to include XP-series and SI-120 will be out in July of 2006
** A customized retention bracket for Ultra-120 AM2 will be out at the end of June, 2006 or sooner.![]()
I wanna get a direct swap in. Any news on another zalman upcoming? My vf900's are nice i just dont want the big cooling tower lookin one thats out right now.
Also after seeing the performance of heatpipes first hand i wanna stick with those too. So regular heatsinks sucks :)
Everybody has those in stock, not only is it extremely expensive its really big and huge. Its not as good looking IMO.
I wanna go with a smaller one that isnt a sideways fan.
A nice. I would be pissed off if I had to buy another heatsink
Chrome, sex factor x10 compared to copper which also discolours...Originally Posted by Lord_Micron
