Far and away the first, original DOOM. DOOM on Xbox Live Arcade comes a close second, simply because it's just like the first DOOM, only on the platform that I currently game on the most.
DOOM 2 I played a lot as well, but Episode One of the original was my favorite and none of the other levels of any DOOM games come close to that experience from the shareware version, basically.
I finished DOOM 3 once but liked the expansion pack, Resurrection of Evil, better. I'm not very interested in id Software's next DOOM game just yet.
I loved Doom 1/2 but Doom64 is pretty much better in every way. Same game play and better graphics. I'm sure most of you wouldn't touch a fps on a N64 controller but it worked very well. Last few years I've been playing doom64 on my pc anyway. If you haven't tried it, i suggest you do.

Doom64 wasn't anywhere near as good. The graphics style was completely changed to hand-drawn characters instead of the previous digitized ones. They looked really cartoony and not very scary. There was also less enemies, the levels weren't as fun, and the last boss was a SERIOUS let down.
I grew up on Doom 1 / 2. And nothing beats that "grew up on it" feeling.
Doom on the PSX was awesome - especially with a mouse. I think I played that game more than any of the hundreds of others I had for my PSX combined.
Voted Doom 1/2.
I remember enjoying Ultimate Doom on the PSX, Doom on the 360`s XBLA is Awesome the game suites a dual analogue controller and great sound aswell[thumbup]
I still remember buying the shareware copy of DooM from my local K-Mart back in 1993 for $4.99
I was simply floored. The graphics were incredible, the gameplay fun, enjoyable, and scary at the same time. It really did revolutionize the FPS genre and took it to the next level. It ran nicely on my AMD 486DX/33 but so much better on the DX2-66 we got a year later.
Eventually, I went ahead and acquired the full version of DooM, Ultimate DooM (contained a 4th Episode), DooM II - Hell on Earth, and finally last but not least Final DooM.
In the years 1996 to 1998, I played a lot of DooM co-op and deathmatch over a modem to modem connection. That further expanded my DooM experience and makes it one of my favorite FPS's to date.
IDKFA for Life!
**oh and my favorite gun in this series, and in most FPS's. The original Plasma Cannon from DooM. Great damage, great effect, and a finely tuned sound effect to boot. The next cannon that ranks almost as much fun is the Laser Cannon from Serious Sam - First Encounter with its TIE Fighter "pew pew" that really gets you in the game.
