    Well after messing about with every possible config, I'm pretty certain now that the engine's tick/frame issue rate is capped to 60 or so fps. It's funny how just has simple and cute the graphics tests are:
    Code:
    Game 1 - The Race
            * Duration: 18 seconds
            * Textures in scene: 3.3MB (with mip-maps, 16bit)
            * Geometry (triangles):
              Total in Scene: 19342
              Average in Viewcone: 8720

    Game 2 - First Person
            * Duration: 20 seconds
            * Textures in Scene: 4.7MB (with mip-maps, 16bit)
            * Geometry (triangles):
              Total in Scene: 20400
              Average in Viewcone: 8500
    20 seconds! That's so quick by today's standards - the GPU's only just getting through 1000 frames . The total polygon counts were big for 1999 but you get more than that in a single character model for Crysis . The best bit has to be the texture load - awww, less than 5MiB. Swwweeeeet!

    Do you? Other than some fond memories, I don't miss anything of that era, with respects to PCs, hardware and benchmarking - driver quality was abysmal, hardware quality was far too variable (even from the same vendor), the API situation was perfect fanboy material and prices were ludicrously high for what you actually got. You can keep all that lot!

    With regards to 3DMark/FM of that time, I liked Final Reality for more than 3DMark99 (sorry guys!) - I only really started paying more attention once 2000 was released, which is when I joined the forum.

    Yea i really do. Remember how hard it was to break scores with that old hardware back then. then Today's hardware seems not as fun as back then. Heck i remember when it was so hard to be in the 15k or 20k club in 3DMark 2001 se. I still want my 3dMark Vantage key as you hurt my feelings now.....lol

    Good Day

    With the Vista fix, and all the compatibilty settings activated, I can get the progarm to start, but when runnning the demo I get an error:

    DirectDraw Surface(primary) -> Flip: DDERR_OUTOFMEMORY

    You can get this to work in Win 7 x64 by moving another ddraw.dll from c:/Windows/SysWOW64.
