    Idle computer use

I'm just interested to see what you all usually do with your computer when you're away from it.

I almost forgot...during the day I usually put it into sleep mode, and at night I usually turn it off. Although with the sleep mode that this mobo has, I'm just putting it into sleep mode some nights as well.

Depends for how long. If I'm not going to be away long (to watch a TV programme or something) I'll leave it on. But if it'll be a long time (gong out or to bed) I'll switch if off.

    Re: Idle computer use

I leave it on 24/7, work, school, sleep. I just got used to it and like it that way, feels a little like my bootspeed is instant hehe..Whilst this I mostly check virus at least once a day (full scan), spy-ware check and/or defragging HDDs. If I know I will be away a big while (sleeping, school etc..) then I mostly turn off LCD to reduce watt usage altough leech the least I guess..

Anyway, if I would travel or a storm is near I do turn it off.

Unless I'm going away for 24+ hours, I just leave it on.

Leave it on, of course! My computer is always doing something, if I am not at the computer it's the perfect time for automatic updates to come in, antivirus scans, system indexing, defragmentation, uploading, downloading, etc.
