Have you tried pushing the CPU higher? I think my old 920 would do around 3.6ghz without a voltage change.

3.2GHz run = GPU 12957 and CPU 51942
4.4GHz run = GPU 12733 and CPU 57677
Something is not right. [thumbdown]
maybe the GTX285 is working at maximum as it is... even with your cpu at 3.2 ... vantage is quite GPU intensive...
It is leyer of dust under cooling fan. I'm just lazy to open (10 screws) clean and reapply thermal paste.
After that I might push GPU more than 690.
