    Problems with 3DMark Vantage? Check here!

    If you experience any issues with your purchased copy of 3DMark Vantage, please check our FAQ first:

    http://www.futuremark.com/support/3dmarkvantage/

    One known issue which most of you will encounter is this:
    Q: If I enter my key (Trial, Basic, Advanced or Professional) when prompted, I get an error saying that the key is not valid. I am sure that it is 100% correct. What should I do?
    A: This is a known issue in 3DMark Vantage 1.0.0. Please re-type the key and it should work correctly.
    We will update the FAQ if we find some other known issues. To ensure that you are set to run 3DMark Vantage, make sure that:

    1. You have Windows Vista Service Pack 1 installed
    2. You have a fully DX10 (SM4.x) compliant graphics card
    3. You have the latest graphics, and possible CPU/motherboard drivers installed (read more & download links here)
    4. You run the benchmark at default MHz on your GPU and CPU (i.e. no overclocking)
    5. Your monitor supports 1280x1024 resolution (required)
    6. Close and disable any open applications and background programs, like automatic disk defragmentation, virus scanners with automatic update features, email clients, browsers, chats etc.
    7. Restart the computer before running the benchmark and after making any driver/hardware changes
    8. Check your Windows taskbar for UAC elevation requests when starting 3DMark Vantage, and/or when you click on the "Run Benchmark" -button.

    Cheers,

    Nick

    I re-entered the key and it worked. I got this message though:

    Error occured in DLL
    Error type: std::exception
    Error message: boost::filesystem::create_directory
    About to run the test now...

    Well, I have re-entered 6 times now and...... nothing. [no]

    Why can't the registration be copied and pasted to ensure we are getting it right? A second problem is that the typed registration disappears after the innvalid message, forcing you to slowly, laboriously re-type that huge code all over again from the beggining. After 6 times I was ready to kick a cat!

    Giving up for now, as I have wasted the morning and have to get to work. I hope all this is sorted by the time I get home. (please?) [surrender]

    1) Keep trying

    2) AFAIK, but I didn't get to that part of the program, you should be able to paste the code in. Click in the text box and hit ctrl+v.

    CTRL+C and CTRL+V works, at least here.

    I had the not valid key issue too, but now it's working. The problem for me was that I closed down Vantage and re-started it. Just delete the error message and enter the key again.

    Make sure you have accepted the UAC prompt from Vista. It might be blinking at your task bar. The SystemInfo module needs admin rights to run (to check what hardware there is in your system)
