That was till now the only serious virus i´ve ever had.
Was a pain in the ass trying to download the windows update/patch and antivirus update [cursing]

edit: Ahh Blaster, yeah that was the one ^^
If you ever see that appear (which it did on my friend's PC not too long ago because of ... lack of AV and clickety-click syndrome) .. go to Start > Run. Type the following command:

    shutdown -a

Boom, the svchost countdown is eliminated until you restart the PC or after some time passes.

The only time I ever got infected with a virus was when I brought a floppy disk home from my highschool PC lab ... which was infected and I didn't have an AV on my new PC (1995). The instructor gave me his copy of Symantec AV to remove it , because it was his fault the systems were infected in the first place. Don't remember the name of the virus though.

To my credit, that was my first Windows-based PC and I've only had it for 2 months...

I personally now use that on my Vista Ultimate x64 system w/ Kaspersky 7.0 as my firewall.

I don't believe i've ever had any of those viruses.

I've had a couple over the many years i've been using PCs, but they're hardly significant.

I made a config error some years back and got nimda in about 20 seconds of the firewall going down, wasn't too hard to remove though.
