I have a Dell 755 that I am benchmarking with PCMark05 Professional 1.2.0.
The program hangs on the splash screen when I run it.
I am running Windows XP Pro SP2 with IE7, Windows Media Player 11, Windows Media Encoder 9, and Direct X 9.0c.
The hardware consists of an Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 @2.2GHz for the proc, 2 GB of Ram, and an ATI 2400XT for the video card. I have the latest BIOS and drivers for the system from the manufacturer.
This problem is occuring on another system that has essentially the same build except it has an Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 @3.0GHz for the proc.
I tried to download the hotfix but the link is not working.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

We have the same behaviour on Dell Optiplex 755. The funny thing is that it runs fine on one Dell Optiplex 755 that has Windows Vista installed. On all the other Dell Optiplex 755 the program won't start, these machines all run Windows XP Professional with SP2.
I have seen at least 3 threads on this forum that talk about this issue but no responses. The oldest thread was from end 2006.
I have 2 HP DC7900 PCs to evaluate - one a small for factor version, the other a compact mini-tower - both running windows xp sp3, and the same software/updates/drivers.
the only difference is that the CMT is fitted with a ASUS EAH3450 vid card.
pcmark05 run fully on the sff with no problems, but on the cmt Im getting the splash screen hanging!
taking out the video card and using the PCs onboard gets me to the options screen, but for some reason then PCMARK05 bombs out on HDD xp startup test? with "aborted" ? Ive so far had to untick the xp startup test from the list to get it to carry on and do other tests?
