I just wanna know what kinda camcorder they were using....damn that thing was tough!!![cursing]
All I have to say is:
This movie was utterly amazing as it captured the sheer terror and panic of the city being destroyed by this thing. It wasnt so much about the monster as it was about the friends staying alive and trying to just get out of the city.
Fantastic camera work and story and made it feel entirely unscripted, and the special effects were outstanding. You could really feel how terrified everyone was as well as feel every explosion and building being destroyed around you. Its been a while where a movie has created this well of an atmosphere for me. It really gets your adrenaline pumping, especially near the end, I mean I just couldn't believe how realistic this all seemed and how well the acting was.
I have a question to those who've seen it though, is a SPOILER too, but for those who dont want to read this, pay special attention to the background at the very end of the movie:
At the very end when the camera cuts to Rob and Beth at Coney Island on the Ferris Wheel, did anyone else see that "thing" fly out of the upper corner of the screen and fall into the ocean? That had to be related to the monster, I was one of the few who caught it in the theater, but then again, I'd read something about this to keep my eye open on the ocean and watch for something to happen.
/End Spoiler
The cam was annoying IMO, and no I didnt see the thing fly by,,, I didnt wanna see it for the buddy system, I wanted to see it cause the monster was gonna **** everyone up
but NOOOO[thumbdown]
So.... all this time we thought that JJ was just being secretive (about the monster), but really he just had nothing to begin with.... figures..[thumbdown]
Just watched it and i have to say it's VERY ENTERTAINING!! [thumbup] but it's not for everyone though... 4 of my frens and I went in.... 1 left after like 20 mins... along the way some 20 ppl left the theatre... if u cant take shaky cams DONT watch it...
