I can't install the oblivion patch

I downloaded the patch off fileplanet, and told it to run, but after about 30 seconds of it patching it stops with the message ...

"Old file not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match."

So I thought I'd try uninstalling the game, and installing again and patching but still got this same error message.

Then I remembered I'd installed some mods, so I uninstalled, completely deleted the install folder and reinstalled but I'm still getting this error message

Can anyone lend me a hand here ?

Theres 2 versions for the PC version, one thats for the US and one thats for Europe/UK (this is the pc version btw.) I made the mistake of downloading 1.1englishfinal (I Think it was called) and that was the US one and the same thing happened to me, needed the UK one and it worked fine.

i got both patches UK and US but it still sais file not found

it also sais missing or invalid registary/IN entry

i tried registering and it said 404!!!
