A new GPU cooler to rule them all?? For X1900 series

Look at this GPU cooler guys. It looks just like an Artic Cooling Product but it's not. I've read it's HIS's doing. I emailed HIS asking if the GPU cooler would ever be sold separately but I haven't gotten a reply yet! The only way to get it is if you buy a HIS x1900xt/xtx.

    The IceQ3

What do you guys think? I think it looks great and by anandtech review of the cooler it does pretty ok.

HIS have been using this type of cooler for ages. It's basically the same as the Arctic Cooling one.

Yeah I know but before Arctic Cooling would release it to the general public after the card has been released. Since this isn't a Arctic Cooling product we might not see this cooler sold separately All the information I read could be wrong though.

This cooler is the same I'm using for my Geforce 6800GT since September 2004. It's called nv Silencer and it is nothing revolutionary or new. Like thegooner said it is the ATI variant of it.

What’s wrong with the Zalman VF-900? Is it really necessary to have cooling using the leaf blower design? If your case is well ventilated I really don’t see the point in it.

Re: A new GPU cooler to rule them all?? For X1900 series

I know it's the same design as the silencer coolers but this isn't a product of A C reguardless of how it looks. Read the XS link I posted and you'll know what I mean. In fact here is the quote I want you guys to read.

The IceQ 3 cooler is not an Arctic-Cooling product. I contacted the Marketing Manager at Arctic Cooling in Hong Kong and I have been informed that the cooler is a good copy cat of their products.
I was told by chr0n1c a well known member of the forums here that the guy who posted that isn't the type to lie.

Now I know in the past HIS has used Artic Cooing NV/ATI
silencer products but this isn't one of them. I just wanted to make that clear.

    I have a
Zalman VF-900 cooler and there is nothing wrong with it. It works great on stock cooling but not so good in the overclocking department. Before I said I didn't care so much for OC'ing but I do now.

Well it manages to lower load temps a good 10C or more, if that doesnt help you overclock more then you just got a crap GPU.. You can't always get the good clockers.

Yeah I probably did get a bad overclocker. I like to try the new cooler out first though just to see if it makes a difference if it ever hits the general public that is.

Re: A new GPU cooler to rule them all?? For X1900 series

The zalman doesn't really cool memory all that well either. Anyhow, I am waiting for a new revision of the accelero wich is supposed to have external exhaust. and YES its bad even if you have a well ventilated case. My mobo temperature rose 5-10 degrees after I got this accelero. i think the same could be said about the zalman. I have 4 120mm fans in my P180 so I think case flow should be sufficient [rolleyes]
