    Re: PCMark Vantage troubleshooter

OK, something is wrong and I paid for the advanced version of PCMark Vantage. I'm running Vista Ultimate 64 Bit. My boot drive is a RAID 0 array. I can run PCMark Vantage and PCMark Vantage 64 bit and they finish fine. But my scores for PCMark Suite and Productivity Suite are both listed as N/A. This doesn't change if I submit my scores to ORB. Can someone at Futuremark please address this issue. Otherwise, I'd like my money back.

    Re: PCMark Vantage troubleshooter

I use Microsoft Outlook for e-mail, so I never bothered to "set up" Windows Mail in Vista. After reading that post I went ahead and launched Windows Mail. It prompted me to set up my e-mail account which I did. I can retrieve my e-mail with Windows Mail, even though I do not intend on using that application normally. I then closed Windows Mail and relaunched PCMark Vantage. I ran all the suites under the 64 bit version to completion. The results were unchanged. My PCMark score is listed as N/A and my Productivity score is listed as N/A. Do you have any other ideas because so far this product has simply not worked as promised?

    XrayDoc88,

Could you tell which test(s) give 0 or N/A results? If you have submitted a score, please give a link to it.

I mentioned the N/A scores above. Hopefully this link will work.

    XrayDoc88,

From the result link I could see that Windows Contacts tests were failing on your system. This is probably because you don't have Windows Contacts installed or the contacts are not stored in the default location. The default location is c:\users\XrayDoc88\Contacts\, if your user profile is located at c:\users\XrayDoc88\. We take the %userprofile% environmental variable and use it. That means that if the Windows Vista user folder matches the user profile (e.g. C:\users\XrayDoc88\Contacts\ and C:\users\XrayDoc88\) . If the Contacts folder path differs from the user profile path, then the Windows Contacts test will fail. The easy do-it-yourself fix is to make sure that the Contacts folder is located in the user profile as in my example above.

    watchdog20002002,

Are your Windows Contacts tests or Windows Mail tests failing? Quick fixes for both cases have now been presented in this thread.

    Re: PCMark Vantage troubleshooter

    XrayDoc88 & watchdog20002002,

We have tested in-house PCMark Vantage with clean systems (clean installs of Windows Vista) that have all the mandatory and optional updates from Windows Update installed. There were no issues with PCMark Vantage, we got scores from every suite. Based on that, I think it is most probable that some 3rd party software causes trouble in your systems. Please disable all antivirus and antispyware programs while you run PCMark Vantage.

    Re: PCMark Vantage troubleshooter

pofpcmark, I moved all of my folders that are normally located in C:\users\username to my D: drive. I did this because I like important data files to be stored on a partition separate from my operating system partition. So currently there is no "contacts" folder located at C:\users\username. Now I suppose I can move the contacts folder back to the default location and see if that will allow PCMark Vantage to run. I don't really like that solution, but I'll give it a try. As far as I know, that Windows contacts folder should be empty, since I only use the contacts database that is part of Microsoft Outlook. If the Windows Contacts folder is indeed empty, how can that even be a benchmark test for PCMark Vantage?
