Found after trying some 3200 DDR from my fathers G5; it can run dual channel at 400mhz with 4x512. It will not run with 2x256 and 2x512, I assume this is due to them being single sided and the other dual channel is double sided...?

If you run 2 x 256 and 2 x 512..Originally Posted by Burtnic
You have to put a stick of 256 and a stick 512 in the same channel.
I run DC with 2x512 in the first 2 slots, and 2x256 in the last 2 and my rig is stable (albeit at 133 divider & 2T)Originally Posted by Horrorwood
Yeah, thats what happened when I first installed them, I then set the divider to 166 which including the CPU overclock equaled 200. This did not work at all, anyway after trying many combinations I found one that with the purchase of 2x512 it will work great.
I ran:
2 x Twinmos pc2700 (512mb) (cas 2.5@166mhz)
2 x random pc3200 (512mb) (cas 2.5 & cas 3 @ 200mhz)
It ran perfectly, ran at 2T. Strange thing was that if I ONLY used the pc2700 it would only run about 200mhz cas 2.5, if i put all 4 sticks in it would ALL run @ 225mhz?!? cas 2.5
So i had 3 different brands, different timings & it ran great! I only run my pc3200 sticks now & i cant get to 225mhz on them? Weird...
EDIT: Oh & it only didnt run DC as 1 stick was singled sided & the rest double.

So If I have 4x512, would I be able to run at 200mhz with DC at T2?
I don't see why not.Originally Posted by Obitus
Don't feel too bad about the 2T thing -- a lot of these boards can't run it period.
As I said I tested my fathers pc with different ram combos from his G5. I found 2x256 dual channel with 2x512 refused to work unless it dictated the mhz, turns out it was 120mhz! If you run 4x512 then DC works as well as 200mhz, but you must set to 2T otherwise no boot!
