Bioshock...big daddy/little sister qs, spoilery

OK I am in Neptune's bounty...and having used my Enrage and lured two big daddies together had them all but kill each other.

So I was all set to collect on two little sister's...but I could only find one alone?

Then a little while later another one came and bashed on the wall and a sister came out near where I harvested the first one.

So my real Q is this...is it a 1:1 thing? Or is their "backup" big daddies that if you knock one down, they will come in?

The level has three of the sisters so it may be that I just didn't find the other free sister and by change I was viewing the third in the area.

backups, last night I was fighting an Elite Bouncer BD and I nearly killed him but he got me first, but before he died he passed the little sister onto another Elite BD so he could finish his fight with me, I kid you not I saw it all before my eyes - amazing A.I. to say in the least.

I personally have only seen 1 little sister around at any given time, but you can see up to 3 Big Daddy's at once (I had 3 of em under my power with that Big Daddy plasmid; the ass-kickery was incredible! )

there is a spot in Arcadia (forest level) where one can see 2 big daddies and 2 little sisters in close proximity. I had both big daddies fighting and both little sisters crying "Bubbles please Bubbles", "Get him Bubbles!!" " bubbles, wake up bubbles" "please come back bubbles""

anyways, it was awesome. both big daddies wore each other down. When the victor killed bubbles 1, he was hemmoraging oil and on his last legs. He took the 2nd little sister to her hole though. So, i saved/harvested one of them, waited a minute or 2 for the other one to bang on the wall, and then she came out, and I finished Bubbles again! poor Bubbles!!
