Yes, in Chinese that word is quite "loose" and can be used toward parents, dependants, siblings, pets, food, tangible & intangible objects, state of being and activities. Kind of similar to “love” “like to” combined in English.

Nope, not in the 21 years I have been alive. Never even so much as a hug, however he does give me alot of money when I went to college and donates to my needing tools for work fund. Hes a good guy, just never says it, nor shows love. [rofl]
No, not that i know of. But one can tell that he loves me by what he does with/to me. But he's not kinda the guy who tells this straight to your face anyway.
