7600GT - As far as Ill go, Hows this ?

SCROLL DOWN A TAD TO SEE THE NEW POST BELOW : I PUSHED IT FURTHER. THANKS~

Well, I decided to play around with my AMD64 3800+ today. Managed to push it to 2.52Ghz without any issue.( 210 FSB ) Just had to bump up the voltage by .025 to maintain stability and change around the DRAM timing a tad. As far as the 7600GT I ran the tests with ( 585 core 775 mem ) ( 1550Mhz respectively). This is what I managed to pull off >

    3Dmark03 - 13556 marks // 1122 cpu marks

    3Dmark05 - 6389 marks // 5429 cpu marks

    3Dmark06 - 3226 marks // 994 cpu marks

    Here are the comparison links.

So Im thinking the card is more so bottle necking my system then my system bottle necking my card. This is since I didnt see much difference from the hardware accelerated scores, more so then CPU scores ( by raising the FSB ). But all in all, hows this platform perform for a 7600GT setup?

Thoughts, comments ?? Thanks! Appreciate any advice.

    Scores looks ok.[thumbup]

It`s a good match with your cpu and gcard

Your system would bottelneck a 8800card just like your card wouldn`t benefit from a C2D

higher then a X1900 without changing cpu isn`t a good choise.

So is the 7600gt better than the x800xt pe in newer games ? Because we have the same cpu, (well once mine is oc'ed) and we have the same fps in game tests.

Now I do plan on upgrading somewhat soon. What proc do you feel I could drop into my current mobo, ( AN8 NF-CK804 ) and what graphics card would kick some butt thats sub 300$ at the moment.
Or... do you think I should grab another 7600GT cheap and SLI ? Which Id prefer not to do... but ehh Ill take some advice ;)

Re: 7600GT - As far as Ill go, Hows this ?

So is the 7600GT still a good card or is it time to upgrade? Do they overclock pretty well? I want to upgrade, but the cards are to exspensive these days. I'm already going to be upgrading my CPU after the price drop on the 22nd.

    It`s always better with one card,coz u don`t get 100% boost with another card,more like 60%.
If i were u and didn`t want to change to Intel Core 2 Duo, i would get a X2 3800 and oc it up to 2.5-3ghz and buy a 8800GTS 320mb/640mb card..

Re: 7600GT - As far as Ill go, Hows this ?

So the X2 3800 would fit in my mobo? I guess that was my question. But yeah I was looking at those 8800GTS cards ;)

    Thanks for the advice.

As for the 7600GT. The memory is very, very, stable. ( seems to be in all models that Ive read reviews about ) Heck, I pushed mine from 1400Mhz to 1560Mhz. Thats impressive. As for the core. Stock 560 and being able to push it to 600 without a seperate power source. Not too shabby. If it had its own power connector off the mobo, Im sure that core could be pushed further. I just stopped for the sake of sitting here for 3 hours running tests after tests.. hahah. Which Im sure Illl do again once I upgrade.
