I know to me, that the 7600GT is quite pleasurable.
I dunno I think it would scratch surely? I shall stick with girls...

The 7600GT is a gred mid-range card, mid range cards are targetted at resolution of 1024x768 > 1280x1024... at those res it performs great for the money. Yes it will lose performance fast if you up the res, but if you want to up the res you need to buy a high end card, the 6800GT was a high end card so yes it could cope with res upping. However now the mid range whoops the high end from before, so nevermind!

It does not lose its power that fast as the 7600GT and the reason the 7600GT outperforms it, is because it has RAW BRUTE FORCE rather than a efficient design. Imagine a 256 bit 7600GT.. now that would be a nice upgrade probably from a 6800gt
What kind of retarded statement is that ? How can it be inefficient when it is able to still beat a card that has 10GB/s BANDWIDTH ADVANTAGE in scenarios of increasing resolution and AA/AF ?

Lol the 7600GT has raw brute force ? Seriously how ? It has less vertex pipelines, less pixel pipelines, less bandwidth, yet it runs cooler uses less power and sits on a smaller PCB. Nvidia obviously went through a lot of effort to make sure the G71 and G73 scaled clockspeeds well, they didnt just say "lets just OC this mofo and put a new sticker on it".
Its clockspeeds have been increased without the expense of clock for clock performance, clock for clock GF7s are more powerful than GF6s.
You know what cards are considered to be brute force ? The X1900XT is brute force, the 5950Ultra was brute force, the 6800Ultra was brute force, the Geforce 2 Ultra was brute force. The 7600GT is anything but brute force..

I dont see what your getting at, your arguement is flawed and makes no sense, its not opinion...its just plain old incorrect.
Remember i also have GF6 (6600GT and 6800GT) and i cant find any area where the 6800GT was faster. Sure it can close the gap under some heavy OC but still not beat the 7600GT. And whatever the 6800GT can OC the 7600GT can do that plus more, and my 7600GT isnt even such a great OCer compared to other peoples here.
The area where the 7600GT shines is its performance in the newer games like Oblivion, FEAR and BF2. It leaves the 6800 class cards for dead, it has far more potential than the 6800GT does, if theres any card thats going to become faster in time its the 7600GT.

Basically youre trying to argue that 10 is bigger than 11, you can try and argue it as much as you want but its just never going to be true.

The 7600GT is usually around 20 dollars more than the GS, but yes i agree that it is faster, but not to the extent as some people make it out to be. I just installed CSS again, and with my 6800GT, it plays actually smooth with 8xAA 16Xaf 1024x768 ALL High, USE HDR when available, and i get a minimum of about 38FPS on a 50 player server while it is usually in the 60's
I live just outside Toronto, and you can find 6800GS's for less then 230.00 right here.

But if you don't mind shopping online 7600GT's can be found for cheaper. Here you go.

If you're on a PCI-E system there really is NO reason to buy a 6 series card now the 7600GT has come along...

Really, there just isn't. Unless all you want is a 6200 turbocache but I still can't see why you would, no better than integrated, beaten with video out options by 7300 or X1300...

At every point in the range there are now 7 series cards or ATI cards with more for you're money...

On AGP the 6800GS is still a good buy, but not much competition - the 7800GS is so horribly overpriced. ATI cards lack SM3 support... The X1600pro on AGP is pants from what I seen...

The 6 series can still cut it at medium/lower res for new games, but its nothing high end anymore - even an Ultra.

thats not true. I play css with a 6800GT with 8xAA 1024x768 16xAF , all high and its very playable on 40-50 player servers. You could say 8xAA is like 1600x1280 with 2x aa so that is pretty high res. And im mentioning CSS because it is STILL the best optimized game in terms of looks and performance. With 8xAA the game looks incredibly sharp and smooth and sharp, and i can bet you, that we will have games come out in the future that still push high res on the 6800GT, along with games that will run like **** even at 640 res. That is just coding my friend. But of course, the 6800GT is limited once coding is 100%

Also depends what you call a reasonable frame rate... some people are pickier than others!

I think to be high end though you need to be playing with all the AA/AF, HDR @ 1280x1024 or above... like an X1900... the 6 series cannot compete there, its beaten my midrange cards!
