I just realized we might be heading for a more console dominated future. Is PC gaming falling behind? By the looks of this forum, PC-games are old news, and console games are hot and flashy and fun.

This comes up every time a new generation of consoles comes up. Yet PC gaming never dies away.
I assume that's how it will be this time as well.
It's kind of a push-pull effect. Each pushing or pulling the other until advances take place. With M$ claiming Vista will be a games platform I don't think PC gaming is going anywhere.
Hehe, oh, sorry bout the dejavu, was this already posted? What's that backup got to do with anything, hehe ;) Okay, so you're saying at the moment there is a twist towards consoles because more things are happening on that market so to speak. But it eventually will turn.
I was just a bit taken by surprise. (the subject a bit rash, for the sake of argument ;)

PC gaming will always be around as it is the superior format for MMO's, and FPS and RTS. Though I think they are getting closer and closer togeather, and if Vista brings what it is supposed to, I think they will be all good as cross platform development should be much easier. I think PC gaming will need to reinvent itself, due to the rediculous price of graphics cards, for small performance gains, and total laziness of developers lately. After it crashs some more it will probably be built right back up again and more improved, especially with what DX10 is supposed to bring. Its a cycle. I look forward to the day, when games will be available across all platforms as well as preriphrials.

Every Generation, I think, it becomes more ture and true. Console are becoming more like PCs each generation.
