Also ever since I installed the tablet drivers when you log off or lock your machine there is the ease of access keyboard......gah can I get rid of that? I looked around in the options couldn't find anything about it.
x64 should be find for photoshop but if you intend to use the other programs i mentioned then its probably not a good idea. also about the keyboard thing im assuming your talking about the side slide out bar thing .. nope dunno how to get rid of that pesky thing yet. ill let ya know if figuer that out.

as far as installing x86 over x64 i wouldn't know never tried it best bet would be clean install which can be a pain to some people. me i wouldn't mind but i honestly cant tell ya if thats whats causing your problems with the lag... have you tryed installing the other drivers i mentioned ?

Haven't tried the tablet driver yet, but no I'm not talking about the side slide out thing I got rid of that, this is when you lock your computer (at the user login screen) there is a full didigtal "ease of access" keyboard that I can't get to go away.

Ack, Vista. Even after disabling all of the pen features (there doesn't seem to be a way to get rid of them all), Photoshop acts funny. My biggest gripe is that when I draw a line or circle, I get either an extra second line connecting my start and end points or it changes a round line to a straight one. That, and I get spaces and gaps in my lines. It's impossible to draw!
I've tried running the "compatibility wizard" but that didn't help much. I did download the new driver (I have an Intuos 3) and neither did that help.

Has anyone figured out settings that work?

yes! its very irritating! i guess vista is too "SMART" .. [cursing] there isnt much problem with the vista it self when using my intous3. it only sucked when comes to photoshop. yes agree with calcitrix , when u draw a circle or a line, it gives u a short line first its like it saperates from the circle that wanted to draw! and yes! its impossible to draw! or paint!. damn.

and the next irritating part is when u try to drag the layers if u click and hold long enough. sometimes it will act as a double click and it opens the blending options window.. that really sucked! is there any way to "turn off" the window's "SMART" tablet function and just let wacom do his stuffs? damn!

For your photoshop problems, try the CS3 beta, it's supposed to be "100% Vista compatible" unlike CS2, or something.
