That's what I hope this will become with your help, you can help me out in a few ways :

1 - I'll have the PAL listings covered, but I'm not entirely sure what the US and Japanese lists consist of at this moment, the Japanese list would probably just be for satisfying people's curiousity and thus isn't that important but someone managing the US list is a must.

2 - You could contribute suggestions on how the list could be improved in this thread.

The Japanese List

OK, first of all, I need to refer to a VERY old post I made yonks ago :

Ryman complains! PAL VC games no go over Component!

I wasn't the only one experiencing trouble either :

Wazzay2k1 experiences green screen woe!

However things are finally looking up for us PAL folks with Component connections! (About bloody time!)

Some older games have been updated to work properly, whilst newer games just plain work without any fiddling!

To see if a game has been updated, go to the Virtual Console section of the Shop Channel and click the 'Titles you've downloaded' button.

If a game has a tab that says 'Updated' on it then there's a good chance that the update is the fix for proper display over Component cables!

Once the game has been updated follow these steps :

1) Start the updated game with ur Component Cables plugged in.

2) Go into the 'Operations Manual' from the Home menu.

3) Plug in a nunchuck.

4) Press Z + A + 2 all at the same time.

If the game supports the fix, you'll hear a beep, go back to the game and it should be working perfectly!

So far here are the games that I have personally confirmed to work over Component.

Donkey Kong Country (Needs update)
Donkey Kong Country 2 (No update required/available)
Legend of Zelda : A Link to the Past (No update required/available)

Note : After I performed the button combo in DKC 1 I did not need to repeat it for DKC2 and Zelda.

THe roms are available, and they aren't really modifying them . . they have no excuss for not having more games available now. They are just trying to milk it, and create excitement when they put "new" games on the list. To me thats pretty low . . who do they think they are fooling? [xmasgrumpy]

Well, heres the North America list. I'll try to edit this post later and transfer everything over so people won't have to click that link. When I'm done, you can edit it all into your first post. This thread is potential sticky material. It should also be noted that VC day is Monday in NA and Friday for EU.

That is a good point, it cant take that much extra tweaking to get these game to work to with the remote/classic/gamecube controller, hell the sorta borked cube controls for DKC are kinda proof of this, they copied the letter assignment from the classic controller exactly, something that doesnt work out too well for DKC (B is Jump, Y is attack + hold to run, A is swap characters).

I do like how the Virtual Console let's me legally play games I missed while growing up, example, I never had a Mega Drive/Genesis so whilst I have Sonic Mega Collection for the cube already there's so many other games for it that I never played before, like Gunstar Heroes for example (which I now have).

One other thing going for the VC is that u don't have to visit potentially shoddy sites and u dont have to learn how to do the potentially confusing process of configuring an emulator (esp true with N64 emulators). Not to mention doing all that is illegal.

A few changes have been made to the list for improved readability and the VC update days are now mentioned as suggested by PrJcT_E.

Each game will have to go through QC as if it were being newly made as it's no longer running on native hardware. Even that short list will have meant thousands of hours of testing, as long as Nintendo intend to charge for these they have to be fully tested.

I'll add new games to the list only once they are released, this should help avoid things like "Hey u said (insert game name here) was coming out today! YOU LIE!!" and whatnot.

EDIT - Can US Wii owners double-check the US List for me, make sure I got it right, that nothing's missing etc, all I did was copy from the Wiki posted earlier.
