UK: How to bypass 0845 numbers..

I found this site the other day.. looks really useful! It will give you the geographical number for all those expensive 0845 and 0870 numbers that we have to call to get through to companies!

Yeah it's quite a handy website that.

I looked up Argos on there (I used to work there) and the 01 numbers given for the stores are probably the private lines, which are intended to be used only for communications between stores/head office/etc. and not for customers.

I searched for ebuyer and it didn't find anything. Their staff must be good at keeping secrets!

    Possibly...

All I know is that those numbers are not in my inclusive mobile minutes, and thus they are expensive for me compared to the inclusive geo numbers.

np the site mentions 0845 for some reason aswell.

Was only wondering as we have 0845 numbers at work now and they were meant to be so our tech support would be local rate

I think they mention all 08xx numbers because:

"If you have an 'inclusive landline calls' phone package, then it is very rare that 0844, 0845, 0870, or 0871 numbers are are included in your 'free minutes' allocation, unlike normal numbers. Many mobile phone packages also exclude freephone 0800 and 0808 numbers for your bundled minutes. "
