Yeah, I read through the entire article. I was looking for some people to confirm that it was possible though just for some peace of mind. I figure the damn thing is cheap enough, I will most likly buy the AGP baord so I can use my current ram and video card. I really wanted the better processor for audio/video encoding. With DirectX 10 being right around th ecorenr, it donesn't make any sense for me to buy a new card/mobo only to need one in a few months.

BTW, I was going to go with a low end watercooling setup ($100) I figure a decent heatsink is atleast $50 so might was well just get one better for that price.

Thats the same motherboard I ordered. I figured I could kep the same video card and memore and just sell off my current mobo and cpu. The difference is like $200 after the watercooler.

I saw some places that said the multiplier was unlocked and others that siad it wasn't. I know I can just bump the fsb up but I'm not sure what voltage to apply to the increase.

I've read that you don't have to bump the voltage up until you are in the 3.6 range. I've also heard that it depends on your processor. I'm hoping to have some concrete results tonight.

Let me know what you set it at. I'm not sure I am going to have time to start building mine until Sunday. I too was going to go to the 3.6 ghz range.

Anyone know how this is going to proform compared to my 3200XP processor in both games and processor intensive Windows applications. If I won't get a lot of permormance out of it, I may return the stuff I bought and pick up one of thiose new Macbooks to play with.

Very fast CPU's for the price if you clock them! Dual core couldn't be more accessible.

Of course if you have the cash X2 is the way to go. But these are probably the best price/performance CPU's till conroe.

Edit: you may have trouble with the stock cooler if your push it too hard, especially in the summer months.
ROFL seems just like the other day it was a predominantly P4 board[rofl]
Soon to be that again or will it. The fact is if its better than what people have they have a hard time saying it as they will feal like they bought "The NEXT BEST THING" I say go Intel then back to AMD then to lets say a no name for better prices[thumbup] In 5 years I will look back and say DAM I thought this system was the bomb as it was for a bit but nothing last forever[no] My big ? is what to buy next[dots] What chip where they just talking about last week or so that was doing CRAZZY O/C that where beating the FX60 ? Was it true ? any links ? and one day this crap be so fast and the GPU's to we will not see a dif in games or apps then what ?
