Thread ratings/user reputations and ignore user options...

Doesn't half make for a big bitchy popularity contest.

There have been times I have been pretty unpopular at FM, mostly for speaking my mind, does that mean I need to walk about with a badge that says 'not liked by the masses'?

I seriously don't think it's fair, especially with most users at FM being total spackers.

This thread for instance will earn me some 'negative' points I am sure. Bag of shite imo.

I don't like the idea of ignore user option, what a pussy way to deal with your problems online. If reading a post by someone on the internet is too much to handle then I can see why that person spends a lot of time online.

As for rep points, it should be switched off inside Gen Discussion. Rep points should only be given to users who give advice to others as a means to tell noobies that this is a person who knows what they are talking about.

WTF are you talking about. You are one of the most popular members here.

Anyway, the mods said they will remove the features if they get abused.

LB- dont worry - since noone has any decent amoutn of rep right now, they can neg you all they want- it will make little difference.

But really, your freaking out too fast. Take a look at the positive aspects. Users now have a chance to show where they stand in a community, not JUST how many posts they have. New users now dont have to be shot down so much in the classifieds, if they show the board they are worth something. If you use it right, it is a really helpful system.
