    HOT PXL (PSP)

Atari revealed much of it's lineup today, mostly consisting (surprisingly enough) of original sounding titles. The first thing that caught my eye was a game for the PSP called HOT PXL. IGN luckily put up screens and info for it, since the site hotpxl.com has the shittiest screenshots I've ever seen in my life. Anyway it's JUST like Warioware, except with a completely different art style. Small attention spans FTW!

Enter Hot PXL, Atari's collection of more than 200 slam-bam mini games with street-meets-digital flavor.

In Hot PXL, players are Djon, a skateboarder zooming through a digital world. Outside of checking our bank account balance, we haven't been in a digital world lately ourselves, but it apparently involves a fast-paced series of mini games. Hot PXL offers thumb-twitching PSP owners quick challenges, whether "blasting through an old-school style video game, busting tricks on a skateboard or a BMX, stage-diving at a concert, or just trying to cross a busy digital street." Many of the challenges are based on Atari's huge library of classic arcade titles.

The game will use the PSP's wireless connectivity to download new games, ensuring Djon doesn't get complacent and hang up his board.

Meantime, players have some time to ready their reflexes: Hot PXL is currently scheduled for release this holiday season.
The "hip-hop flava" makes me wants to spew chunks of acid, but I can look past it if it's quality like San Andreas was. Check out the bitchin' screens (it's getting to me...):

I was pretty sure there was another Warioware-style game being made for the PSP, but I could be wrong.

Minus the fact that it's incredibly hip - that style is really awesome. It's nice to see stuff on the PSP that is stylized rather than just "nice graphics." Hope it turns out to be fun!

I agree. If done right this can be the ultimate 2D machine, as the resolution of the screen allows for some incredibly detailed artwork. I hope it turns out well, as I'd love more Warioware type stuff.

Continuing exactly where I left off last night, I like how the PSP continues to evolve with a broader reange of games on the go, not just console ports.

P.S. My first post on the new forums!!!

Heh, your avatar fits much better here too. The new layout is very strange, but I'll get used to it. I like all the added options and stuff.

As for the PSP, I can't wait to see all the crazy **** developers have cooking up for it. 3rd parties have done better (sales wise) on the PSP than the DS, especially outside of Japan, so it should be a no-brainer for most of them to have lots of PSP projects.
