Nice. Even though no one here would buy one of those anymore because of Conroe I think its good news for the "av joe" kind of people. I think my dads work rig will go Dual Core soon.![]()

Wow, some nice price drops there [shocked]
The price cuts took place almost two weeks ago (April 23rd) so The Register is late with this news.
looks like their making way for the new conroes coming soon.
Yeah..exactly..they want to sell as much as they can from Pentium D...becasue at the time Conroe is out..I think there will be no reason to keep Pentium D in th market unless they really dropped its prices to a very low range[yes]Originally Posted by Airforce1

When Conroe comes out the Pentium will be dirt cheap, and relegated to budget, Pentium being re-marketed as a budget brand probably. Celeron as some sort of ultra budget, or maybe everything will get rebranded into a single budget brand.Originally Posted by Hannoo
They won't be able to have Core based Celerons unless Pentium is all gone, or Celeron could outperform Pentium!
Celeron name is going as with Pentium though??
Core Uno or something will be the new budget Core brand? (single core versions)?

I wasn't blaming you for anything. I'm sure many people didn't realize the price cuts went into effect. I just thought it was odd that The Register was about two weeks late with the news. The same author had mentioned the price cuts on April 23rd back in February.Originally Posted by Streifenkarl
The new prices are looking good, especially compared to the single core Pentiums. Looks like Intel plans to sell every 65-nm CPU they can produce and are trying to prevent AMD from taking more market share before Conroe arrives.

Too bad their CPUs still cost the exact same as always, it's not enough for Intel to cut their prices, but the retailers must also drop their -- which they haven't![]()
ugh how do you figure that?Originally Posted by Torniojaws
