I asked how it's slowing the games, not speeding 'em up

Looking at the past MS has been known for making a whole lot of noise about things that in the end where hardly as dramatic as they claimed.

When i see the same game running faster in Vista than in XP on the same spec hardware then ill say "Well done MS", until then im just going to assume that the newer OS is going to be slower on the same hardware...just as how its always been.

On same hardware + software, it's probably quite impossible, considering DX10 can't be run on XP and DX9 in Vista isn't supposed to be any faster than in XP

So hows it okay to claim that Vista is already better ? It could be the biggest sideways step in history for all we know.

Numbers dont lie, so ill wait for those.

As always MS has made a whole lot of claims, and just as all those times before they will not live up to them.

The day they release an OS that is free of all the frills and doesnt need to be win-updated every week and runs my games without slowing them down too much and doesnt cost me the price of a whole new PC , then ill be excited.
You can always stay with Win 95/98, Win 2000, Win XP or whatever makes you happy. Technology moves forward and Vista offers a few things over all older OS. It makes me laugh when people say Windows Vista is just shiny effects and such. Do you really think it took Microsoft this long to make a new OS with just "better looks"? [no]

BTW, I think every OS should be updated regularly. Nothing man made will never be perfect. So, if you are look for perfect OS then you are only fooling yourself. Everyday hackers come out with ways to hack a OS. Do you really think Microsoft or anyone else out there has a 100 percent fool proof way of making a OS that will always stop you from being hacked? Also, updates make way for new technology.....or do you want to live in the past?....and when has a OS cost the price of a new PC? Win XP Pro was 199, Win XP home was around 99 bucks. Is that alot for a OS that gives you free security updates, optimizations, and etc.?

All you crying about Vista can always stick to something old or use Linux or something. No one is force you to buy, but atleast try it before whinning. Vista is very stable the only reason I don't use it as my current OS is because of the lack of driver support.

Dude he never said it was faster. He is saying you really can't compare which is faster. Did you even read his post or comprehend it correctly? I find your speculations about Vista to be very annoying when you haven't tried it. Get the beta and try it out before posting all this hoppla or do you even know how to judge a OS for more than just looks? You probably just game only with your PC.

Yeah...we will see how good it is once its here.

And before you carry on assuming things about me, no i dont only just game on my PC..and secondly stop acting like you know everything about Vista because youre on some beta, you want an award or something ?

Also I cant comprehend things ? You are the one putting words in other peoples mouths..

Did i ask for a perfect OS ? No...did i ask for improvements that would be noticeable for ME ? Yes.
Should i give a damn if you like the shiny new Vista UI ? NO !
At the end of the day, ill decide if its worth my money or not, Windows costs A LOT of money...more than it should IMO. Besides i dont need insulting remarks from the likes of you to sway my decision.

Dont try and write me off as somebody who has limited understanding with OSes...but who am i compared to you Mr Mighty beta tester man ?

And even without using even the BETA versions of Vista you say it doesn't have noticeable improvements for YOU? [rolleyes]

Talking about what Vista is capable of, what's new features in it etc etc, you're pretty much nothing compared to anyone who has used the beta versions.

Once again thats you assuming that i havent seen Vista in action...

Really you guys are a joke, if you love Vista thats fine by me. But im not here to say things to make you happy, so if you dont agree with what i have to say then lay off the "im better than you" speeches okay ?
