I gave up on Ubisuck after Vegas, what few games I've gotten that needed GFWL were a complete PITA.

I'm in the middle of my first GFWL experience right now. I tried to play Bioshock 2. Apparently Microsoft takes issue with that. They'd rather I spend 45 minutes downloading updates and looking at intrusive and obnoxious menus.![]()
I assume they are combining it with Xbox.com and the Xbox app on Win8 maybe? At least that seems to be sorta what is happening; Paul Thurrott has hinted at this on Windows Weekly iirc. I will never understand why MS talked up the product so much and done so little with it on top of punishing players with their half@zz attempts. I am afraid any other effort will be the same thing.
While I don't care for GFWL, it does somewhat work from my experience. Losing save files with early GFWL games was the most annoying problem I have had with it. These days it seem to work okay.
Uplay, I just can't stand it.
I'm going with GFWL. I literally had to reinstall windows because I simply could not get Arkham City to work to due to Microsoft's fantastic gaming software. I tried every trick known to man to try and get GFWL to work, but to no avail.![]()
GFWL is worse then useless. At least with Uplay I was able to purchase some neat things for my Splinter Cell/Ghost Recon games.
