    Interesting enough the guy says it worked better in the x16 slot and even that being done don't expect to hit SATA III max speed, as the pci-x bus is limited to a maximum of 5GB. I guess it is up to the user do determine if it is worth it, but $30 is not bad at all, beats the heck out of a new motherboard upgrade for the interim.

    crucial M4 on a marvell 9128 SATA 3 controller.....

    so yes , your sata 2 is actually FASTER...

    dont get either of those addon cards - they both use the awrful marvell 9128 controller chip..

    and why is it so slow? internally the chip is pcie 1x , so is maxed out at around 380 mb/s and as you can see , real world speed is alot lower
