    Planning an Upgrade

Hey guys, I am just trying to get some suggestions on an upgrade on my CPU/Motherboard/RAM.

I really want to get the EVGA X79 SLI since I have been really pleased with my EVGA X58, however I find there are alot of people having problems with the board, some even requiring a new BIOS which could take several weeks to ship from EVGA. I guess the CPU I would be looking for is a 3930k, unless there is something more bang for the buck but still six core.

As for the ram, I am looking for 16gb of whatever kit is the most stable matched with the board you suggest.

I already have a SSD on the way, it's here but been sitting in customs waiting clearance for almost two weeks now :)

    Re: Planning an Upgrade

Samsung Green memory is currently the best bang for buck.

    Good thread here: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/sho...php?t=18379546

The 3930k's internal memory controller will max out before the ram will.

3930k is fine, but do you really need 6 cores?
