Red tinted screen, flickering with new dual GTX 670s in SLI
Trying to benchmark a new build with 3DMark 11, but all demos and graphics tests result in a strange effect that tints parts of the test images red and then very rapidly flickers back and forth from normal. The tests run, but hang and have to restart system. I can exit out no problem prior to the hang. Have done no overclocking yet, system is stable. Games and all other programs run fine. Have reinstalled graphics drivers and 3DMark 11, no help. Thinking it is hardware related, but seems to be only limited to 3DMark, so not so sure.....

Do you have Virtu MVP installed? I have notice the same odd behavior with my GTX680 while running 3DMark11 using the earlier 300 series drivers with Virtu MVP enabled. I am using the 304.79s now with Virtu MVP enabled and the issues are resolved. Try installing one of the 304 betas and see if the issues are resolved.

Thanks, making progress. Updating to 304.79 beta didnt help, but when I reseated the SLI connector the red flickering went away and the benchmarks started normally. I have not been able to complete the benchmarks as I'm still getting system crashes in the 2nd test that require a hard restart. I dont have Virtu MVP enabled, wil try that next. Will also try a different SLI connector.

Still having trouble getting 3DMark 11 to run. The first demo starts out fine, then about halfway through the screen freezes. The music continues to play behind the frozen screen, then when it gets to the end of the music the screen blacks out and then it drops back to Windows. A message then pops up "Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver , Version 301.42 stopped responding and has successfully recovered"
If I disable SLI the demo and graphics tests play through fine. Wonder if I have a bad GTX 670? Need to try swapping them out one at a time and run the tests. Did a clean Win7 reinstall, didnt resolve the issue.
Re: Red tinted screen, flickering with new dual GTX 670s in SLI
Thanks for all the suggestions. After trying a few different install scenarios, installed the GTX 670s in slots #1 and #2 (ASUS recommends slots #1 and #4), all of which should be PCIe 3.0 x16 in SLI mode. Changing the slot of the second card completely eliminated all issues, everything worked fine from benchmarks to games running much faster. Seems to be a MB issue limited to the PCIe slot #4, have contacted ASUS to start the RMA process.
Re: Red tinted screen, flickering with new dual GTX 670s in SLI
I had the exact same problem last night when testing my new 680gtx 4gbs in SLI. Screen flickering red but no other artefacts, no crashing and framerate unaffected. No problems when SLI disabled or when in 3D Vision mode. After four or five attempts at reseating the SLI bridge the problem went away.
Never experienced this problem before on previous SLI setups. No issue now but I'm keeping an eye on it.
