What algorithm did you use to upsample the image? Are you sure this is similar to an XBOX?

Also, JPG compression throws the comparison out of the window, it sacrifices color saturation and (more important) hue in order to conserve brightness.

Are you sure that the conservation of color that you see is not an artifact of the compression process?

Default photoshop. Bicubic something or other. I have no idea what the Xbox uses. And the point of my post had nothing to do with the colors of the images, and had everything to do with the detail and aspect ratio, which JPG shows just fine.

The initial complaints were that 880x720 was a downgrade in resolution and that it would ruin the proportions, I believe I've dispelled that myth.

I can care less about any of this, Ive seen the game in motion and it looks pretty cool.And this is the first CoD that is attempting to think outside the box and I like that so I will be buying this regardless of the resolution.Once again Earth is making a freaking mountain range out of a molehill.

It entirely depends on how good the scaler is in the TV. Also, the 360 has a great scaler so it scales whatever the render resolution is to 1080p.

This one of the reasons i prefferd the 360 over the PS3 as when i had an old 40" 1080p bravia and the TV having to upscale the PS3`s 720p signal was crap.

COD is stupid... I am too lazy and care to little to justify my opinion (which is actually a fact).

I did just get Alan Wake from newegg for $16 that game is awesome and is scaring the crap out of me.

Well its still a scaler, and most new 360 games are jagged as hell, upscaling doesnt fix that.

A good scaler, yes, which does help. A sub 720p game running on the PS3 looks a fair amount worse on most TVs.

CoD Is not a war sim anymore is it.. it looks more like Q3 or UT now then when they started call of duty. Anyway its a fun console game which console gamers will enjoy I am sure.
