So their unexpected success of Deadspace cos lets be honest Deadspace wasn't an IP they were making a thing about did about 2million or so didn't it?

Deadspace 2 cleared more in a week of release, then Deadspace 1 did up to DS2 release.

While I agree that changing the formula a tad to keep things going is good, why the hell change the market? Thats why DS is popular, its a relatively niche market with very little titles. They struck gold in it, now they want to destroy it just to see if they can get even more money out of the IP?

and people wonder why EA is hated?

Why not keep DS as is and release a new IP?

For a company wanting a Call pf Duty so bad, EA did not even learn the most basic lesson from it.

    Don't change s***.

Isn't trying to be more broadly appealing how EA turned the 4 million unit selling Dragon Age: Origins into the 2 million unit selling Dragon Age 2?

I'd prefer DS3 on an isolated space station or starship, a la System Shock, a planet seems a little bit too comfortable when compared. I'll still play it, but my expectations have been reduced with the change.

When you can't make a game unless it sells over 5 million, something is seriously wrong. Console gaming has become a Frankenstein's monster. Maybe now it will start to dawn on people that huge mainstream success isn't worth the cost of dumbing everything down.

You have a point. Horror games are naturally niche. It seems like that could keep the profit margin and budget accordingly and not worry about it. Coop in a horror game... They want a RE not a horror game.
