Giving my son a OLD dell. Replacing hdd and need a copy of windows 7. Cheap as possible but a real copy. Thank you.

Already did that. Its metro gui that is the problem. Its a 2 ghz Pentium and one gig of dd1 with onboard intel gpu. I ran windows 7 on it before and it ran buttery smooth, but im using that liscence on my wifes rig. Please no more discussion about windows 8. I just want windows 7 as its a proven solution on that dell.

What model dell is it and does it have a COA for XP pro or Vista Home Premium or higher on it? Depending on your answers it may qualify for a OS upgrade from Dell for free.
