sorry guys,, I made a mistake,, actually my intel q9550 is set@3.4 not 3.2 as I stated in my initial post,, so do u guys recommend me to increase it to 3.5 or u think 3.4 is somewhat ok with the gtx 680 vga card and I think the cpu core voltage is set @ 1.20623 v .

Depends on the temps, if you are not stressing the cooler then push it some more and keep an eye on the temp. Keep it under 85C load and try and get some more mhz before you raise the vcore, if its not stable then raise the voltage a bit but still watching the temp.

may I ask how I can get more Mhz,, is it from the cpu host frequency (set @ 400 at the moment) and what about the memory timings,, should I overclock the memory as well or its not recommended bro?

    Yeah the cpu host frequency is the front side bus so 400 x 8.5 = 3400mhz, 420 x 8.5 = 3570mhz and so on.

Would try and keep the memory at stock speeds via the ratios.

Depends what you are thinking of doing... If it is a cheap upgrade from a core2duo then go ahead it is worthwhile but if you are buying it from scratch then definately get a i5 or i7 instead. The CPU is alright if overclocked but it is still a big bottleneck to that card in CPU intensive games.

I have a Freezer 7 Pro on it. It's quiet and cool at stock speeds, but becomes quite loud and hot when overclocking. I've gone up to 3.4Ghz before, but never really pushed it.

The CPU is in my HTPC rig in my living room. In this application, noise =

I haven't gamed much recently though. I'm mostly limited by my 8800GTS right now anyway.

Might try O/Cing again when I decide to get the GTX670 (or 660Ti).

so bro according to my motherboard, what are the settings I gotta adjust or increase manually to achieve 3.5 - 3.6 with stability, I know its like attrial thing and no two cpu's would perform better, yet, how I can finetune or what to finetune in order to get the 3.5-3.6 ghz, any1 has a gigabyte motherboard like mine so he can assist me in pointing at the specific values I gotta increase? thankx in advance brothers and sisters if any here,, lol
