Good. While the socket 1156 chips are as good as the socket 2011 ones quality wise I'd say, the mobo's are somewhat lacking quality when it comes to stability and consistency at high clocks. Sure they can hold mild overclocks ie 4.6Ghz but at around 5Ghz or even 4.8Ghz these setups get extremely finicky. Like for example your setup can do 20 passes of LinX easy, but BSODs while browsing or even on idle.

I went from a high end X58A/990X setup to P67 and now Z68 and a 2600k because I wanted to check out the mainstream stuff and I wanted 5Ghz+ but I can tell you right now, I am not making that mistake again even though I'm actually stable at 5Ghz. I might jump on the S2011 bandwagon this month.

So yeah, high end stuff cost more but as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for.

Hmmm... have just encountered an annoying issue.

    The "C2 stepping" of the 3930K is a "pre-order"
(I swear it stated in stock when I saw it )

Looking on the net, it would seem that the C2 stepping is being met with good reports.

I can get the original stepping no probs...

... but a few people are advising to hold out for stock of the C2 stepping as it is a good one and due back in stock imminently albeit in limited supplies.

Do you guys agree or have any info on the new C2 stepping of this CPU?

Newer stepping is always better to put it simply. Prolly clocks slightly better and/or runs cooler. I'd take that advise and hold out. It won't take long before the new stuff hits the shelves.

You made a solid choice there with a 3930K. What cooling system are you using?

Was going to go with a Corsair H80 and pair it with 2x Arctic Cooling F12 120mm Quiet fans.

Was thinking about the H100... but I reckon the H80 should be OK.
