    Advice for gameing headset?

I'm looking to get a good headset. Right now i have basic $15 headphones, lol What does everyone recommend? I can go to about $150-175. Also is there much difference between just USB connection and others that connect to the sound card/on board directly?

I have an old pair of Sennheiser HD 435 that I am super happy with. At the price point you're shopping at you should find something nice. I prefer the mini-jack connection, although I don't know if one is better than the other....

    My advice would be:

Avoid all of these headsets, razor, corsair, creative etc etc.

Buy a pair of nice headphones which you can use for games, music, films etc.

Buy a seperate clip on, or desktop mic.

That way you are getting some high quality headphones whereas with headsets you are not getting very good quality audio and are paying for the name and the convenience.

At the end of the day you will probably ignore this and buy a headset but you would be much better buying some high quality headphones then getting a seperate microphone.

Nononono please dont buy Grado for PC gaming they are about the worst possible choice for PC gaming!

They are alright for maybe 1 hour at a time of pure music listening but possibly the worst possible headphones for gaming!

I decided for the Corsair 1500 since it was on special, I used USB because onboard sound is hardly any better nowadays.

it seems pretty good, certainly good for the price

I have the Corsair 1300's. They are the Analog versions of the 1500's.

I'm pretty happy with them and they do their job well. I'm just using them to play games with my friends, not listening to Beethoven's 5th symphony.
