so you have to be online to play sp as well? surprises me you all are ok with that tbh..

I prefer it that way, tbh. Once the initial login issues are ironed out, online-only is all upside. No hacked items, infinite gold duping, or any of that other crap. Also being able to instantly drop in and out of your friend's games is just great.

I love Diablo I and II but for some reason I couldn't give a toss about III, maybe I've just become tighter with my money and will buy the game when they are giving it away.

I guess the whole reliance on servers makes me less keen to jump aboard right away.

So far I find the game VERY AWESOME and its meeting/exceeding my expectations, though I never spent a lot time in D2 as compared to D1. All in all it really depends on what you are looking for in a game.

It seems my local Tesco, ASDA, PC World don't give a toss either. In Tesco I got blank looks "dunno, is it in the book?", in ASDA; "we don't do PC games". In PC World she had to check. Only place that had it (literally) was Blockbuster and they were sold out. Bugger me if I'm paying £45 from rip-off Blizzard store.

Yeah £45, sod that. I took a look but cancelled as soon as I saw the price. You can buy a four pack of Touchlight II for that and that will (arguably) be a better game without me sitting on my hands waiting to connect.

No doubt a great game but I can wait.

Yeah, the login issues were terrible, especially right at the launch. I still don't understand how Blizzard didn't see this coming and didn't just invest in a lot higher server / bandwidth capacity.

They'll only need more bandwidth for the first few days, once the Casual's start to play less they'll have enough to handle the loads. But if they buy enough pipe to handle everyone at day one they'll be stuck with it for a year. I don't think anyone does that sort of thing in week sized packages.
