Our guys are doing major yet invisible (if everything goes like it should) changes to the 3dmark.com server backend this week, with the first parts already line. The only visible change is that all 3dmark.com domain links will end up redirecting to same links under www.3dmark.com. This is unlike today where www.3dmark.com is used for static pages while all ORB functionality - result viewing and searching - only worked without the www part. This is a side effect of the actual changes that include splitting things up so that there is one "front facing" server that is then being supported by any number of backend servers that can be added or removed according to the current load. In other words, we are finally getting true website load balancing for 3dmark.com.
Upsides should include greatly improved performance of www.3dmark.com result browsing and no more downtimes due to server crashes triggered by the server getting overloaded.
However, the changes are fairly big and odds are something somewhere is broken. If you run across anything weird while browsing any part of www.3dmark.com or when submitting results, please let us know with as much detail as possible. We're running our own in-house tests as well but it is a large site and I can't pretend that we can catch everything.
The change doesn't require you to change any links you may have pointing at 3dmark.com - automatic redirects will catch those.
