I'm preparing by reading all about the problems everyone is having, and then waiting for them to be fixed before i buy a game. I'm done buying or pre-ordering half finished, buggy, untested games. If i'm going to buy a game, they need to prove it's worth the money before i order it.
I'm preparing by not buying the game and playing DayZ.
