What GPU to pair with my CPU

Does anyone know if there is any article / benchmark around that looks at what is a best fit for your CPU?
In my case, i destroyed a GTX460 and am running a 4890 for the time being.

Thing is, its loud as hell. And specialy in WoW (raiding) and SC2 it will slowdown alot during AOE stuff.

My CPU atm is an i5 750. What GPU would be a good match for it?
Performance wise a 560Ti sounds like a good one. But any other thoughts and or links?

I intend todo 0 overclocking. Due to babies needing space to sleep my computer is in the living room atm
So fans need to be quiet.

I don't really advocate this kind of "matching" because it depends so much on the game. Some games you can use a Q6600 and a 680 and be GPU limited, while others you can have a sandy/ivy at 5ghz+ and still fall short of 60fps while the GPU twiddles it's fingers. I'd just get as fast as I can afford.

I agree with this, so i'd still get the 7850, its a really good card for the price.

Re: What GPU to pair with my CPU

My ATI card knowledge is not much, as my last one was a 9700pro.
So, what brands to avoid? And what is the quietest 7850 out there? (no water ofc )

edit: the GIGABYTE GV-R785OC-2GD looks nice, big fans = less noise?

I have an i5-2500k and a 7850, coming from a GTX 460. It's the MSI 7850 OC and it is silent enough, gaming wise it kills the GTX 460.

That's what I thought when I put a GTX680 in with my Q9450. Skyrim framerates where not that much better than my old HD5870. Swapping for an I7 2600K (Stock), I got a massive performance boost. Rarely dips below 60FPS with maximum settings. Even at the top of Markarth looking down.

Always nice when you have a powerful GPU that's limited by the CPU, just upgrade the CPU and BOOM! Huge performance increases in just about everything.
