    ASUS Sabertooth Z77 i7 3770 (non-K) - won't boot...red LED... DOA?

    EDIT:

ZOMFG! 12v was connected to the motherboard, but not to the PSU!

It turned on and made a single beep! At first there was a RAM LED on, and so I took one stick out and there are no more error LEDs! It is on right now, spinning like it should! I hope eventually I can make the second memory stick work once I get into BIOS!

Thing is... all I have is HDMI for my HDTV and whether I use my GTX 680 or motherboard HDMI slot - my HDTV says No Signal!

100% not a faulty fan, it will work without the fan plugged in.

Have you tried it with one stick of ram?

Have you got the ATX +12v plugged in?

    It's possible that it's a damaged CPU

What's connected at the moment? Any fans? Extra PCI cards? Disconnect everything and recheck all the connections before you go through the hassle of sending something back.

Also, about the memory...even if it's not fully supported, it should still work. I doubt that's the issue here, but I could be wrong.

Tried one stick and no sticks and +12v connected with 2 4pin square connectors.

Are you sure you have got all of the case standoffs in the correct places?

    --- Post Update ---

OK, I got inside BIOS and set RAM to 2133Mhz XMP Profile 1. However, second memory stick just won't let my system boot... Any ideas on how to make it boot with both memory sticks? MemOK keeps flashing but ends up freezing with red and nada....

Also, my case has an exhaust fan with a 3 pin connector and I can't find a place to plug it in because other motherboard fans used them all up! But I wonder which fan would matter most...the big back exhaust fan or the tiny motherboard fan (they use the same connectors)?

Try taking the working stick out and put the "duff" one in and see what happens. Obviously, no POST = DOA. If it does POST you may still want to do a Memory test using the Windows 7 disk, or download a memtest bootdisk.

Do both sticks work, but not at the same time? If so I'd try the other two slots for now. If both sticks still won't boot together then try lowering the speed. I don't think 2133 is guaranteed.

When you install windows 7 make sure you have only the c:/ plugged into the SATA, otherwise windows might place the actual boot sector where it pleases, making the machine unbootable without the second drive.

Your case should have come with a molex converter of some kind for the 3 pin fans, try that for the back fan. You can find a resistor later if it runs too fast.

I got bott stick to work but only next to each other...adjacent. That means single channel, right?

Maybe BIOS update will allow dual channel...
Also, is it OK to have BD ROM in SATA slot 0 and SSD in SATA 1?

Chapter 2 page 5 of your manual states Recommended Memory Configurations your ram should be in A2 and B2 for dual channel operation. As for the BD rom in sata 0 that doesn't matter at all.
