Max Payne 3 DLC Plans Revealed

Rockstar has announced its plans for Max Payne 3's downloadable content. According to a post on Rockstar's official site, seven DLC packs are currently planned for the game's multiplayer, and players will be able to purchase a Rockstar Pass for 2400 Microsoft Points or $29.99 that will offer access to every pack as it's released. Buying the pass is a 35% discount over buying the content individually.

The first content to be released is the Local Justice Map Pack coming in June. Local Justice includes a Police Precinct map that can be used in Gang Wars, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Payne Killer modes, plus two additional maps, avatar items, multiplayer challenges and more.

Pricing for each individual pack hasn't been announced yet, but the full release schedule for Max Payne 3 content is below:

    June 2012
    • Local Justice Map Pack
    Summer 2012
    • Disorganized Crime Map Pack
    • Deathmatch Made In Heaven Mode Pack
    • Hostage Negotiation Map Pack
    • New York Minute Co-Op Pack
    Fall 2012
    • Painful Memories Map Pack
    • Trickle Down Economics Map Pack
Max Payne 3 will be released on May 15th. For more information on the game's multiplayer, check out our interview with Rockstar's Dan Houser.

Damn, that's kinda expensive, especially, if it dies out over the 6 months. I hope it is fun though.

Already talking about DLC for a game that hasn't even come out yet, seems like the game wont actually be complete until fall 2012 and $30 after you purchased the game.

Not really. LA Noir, Red Dead, Gears 3, Uncharted 3, etc. all announced plans for future MP and co-op expansions before release. It's a schedule to show continued support. It's not day one DLC. Of course, by this time next year you could get the Complete Edition for $30

If i was to get this game i would wait until all that DLC is bundled with the game and probably for cheaper than $60 it will likely be in some steam holiday sales.

Whenever I see DLC plans for an unreleased game it makes me feel like the game im going to buy is just part of the game, and i shouldn't buy it, the whole marketing idea of "BUT OMG IT WILL HAVE DLC!" doesn't work for me, it has the opposite effect.

Same here. Anymore I just wait for the "Game of the Year" edition or whatever has all the DLC included. It's a bit ridiculous. It'd be nice if more people realized this and they stopped the DLC BS/released it for free.

Pretty sure they already did if you're basing your hopes off the first and second game.

If the content is there and worth the money, why not? I think DLC is a great idea for business and consumers.

I see this as basically the same thing as Expansion packs. Just a new name for it, and something that can go with consoles.

Re: Max Payne 3 DLC Plans Revealed

I love this game to all hell but I am really REALLY upset at this DLC crap. Why is every DLC for every game have to be plain run of the mill MP map packs ? **** I hate multiplayer and now since they added MP to a SP only game this is what we have to look forward too, more MP maps ?

All people do is bitch about how laggy MP games are and all the cheaters, hacks or camping and what now yet every loves MP.How is that again ?Sorry to vent guys but this is something that has been bugging me forever.Would it kill Rockstar to add some great SP portions to this wonderful title ? why does it just have to be stupid ****ing multiplayer content.
