So a single card with 2x GK104s... which are normally ~$500/card if they were in stock anywhere...
for $999, but with better cooling, etc is somehow a sham???
/methinks people are setting their goals a touch unrealistic, as this isn't a card with cut-down GK104s, but 2 FULL GK104s. Am I missing something???
They can ramp up much closer to the 680 - wonder how long before water blocks are available for them?
EK guys will have their block out very soon.
Price tag is not too high considering that Nvidia used best (higher binned) chips for the GTX 690, which is the other factor in bringing down power consumption versus the 2x195W GTX 680 SLI.
Bare in mind that single card users have different $$ perspective than SLI or CF users who spend more than $1,200 for the top multi GPU performance.
LOL GTX 690 is shipped in a wooden crate so you need a crowbar to open it

Nice to see it hasn't got the stacked power connectors, unlike this 680. I like the cooler design too, it looks tough, robust, like you could chuck it about and it'd still work afterwards. Not that i'd test that theory.

I like Nvidia's approach to this, the price will be high anyway so why not go all out on the design. Beautiful card![]()
