WHY HOT?
Almost every aspect of an already great game seems to have been improved,
promises to be a vital step forward in the Guild Wars franchise
and indeed the genre of MMORPGs
I got to spend a day and a half on site experiencing Guild Wars 2 cooperative, PvP and WvW game modes. Even with the time I had to play, I felt like I only scratched the surface of what the game has in store for us. For a title that's been in development for five years now, my primary question going in was: What took them so long? Seeing and playing the differing game modes answered that question. Even with its current work-in-progress status, Guild Wars 2, across the board, drips with quality. It is clearly a product produced by a talented group who want nothing less than the best in every part of their game and are willing to invest the blood, sweat and tears to achieve those results.
While it will be difficult waiting for the release of Guild Wars 2, it is made easier by the fact that what awaits us is a game that should change MMOGs for the better and make a wide variety of players happy. Here's hoping that ArenaNet finishes strong and meets their goals.
