Why is it an insult? It's not come out of federal funding or anything.

gDrive is a pain with proxies, no way to change manually so it doesn't work in my office.. yet. Skydrive is painfully slow but getting there. For the moment Dropbox is a clear winner still and hopefully they'll adjust their pricing to be more in line with the others.

I'm still quite determined to keep using dropbox, besides you can get up to 18Gb for free using referrals.

Having used Dropbox for less than a year, I've already got 5.2GB for free, which beats Google Drive's 5GB. I installed Google Drive nonetheless, which means that I've got about 10GB available online now. Hihi.

I have a lot if cloud storage accounts and only really use Dropbox, rarely as well.

Google drive has some weirdness in the agreement.
"When you upload or otherwise submit content to our Services, you give Google (and those we work with) a worldwide license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, create derivative works (such as those resulting from translations, adaptations or other changes we make so that your content works better with our Services), communicate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute such content. The rights you grant in this license are for the limited purpose of operating, promoting, and improving our Services, and to develop new ones."

I just use a Synology NAS, and don't really need to send my files to anyone, but retain full (SSL-encrypted) access from Windows, Mac, Android, or iOS. I have a few terabytes, and don't have to pay monthly.

    This, I have 6TB.

I just use remote FTP (Or HTTP if needed). Wifi is fast enough wherever I am at.
