Indeed I am. Leaps and bounds better than the 6spd in the 06' G6 GTP. A direct mechanical connection to the shifter assembly is way better than those Cable shifter setups the front drivers usually get.

It also helps that its a short throw hurst shifter with a short stick. I think the throw is about 1.5" to 2" or between gears. And its so positive on engagement. No extra slack or anything. Pull or push the shifter and it just slides right in and hits the internal stops with a solid thunk. Awesome.

Sadly I don't think I could manage to aim the camera at the shifter and drive it at the same time.

Anyone know of any suction cup mounts for iPhones? Camera takes decent video if you don't have to zoom in on anything.

    6th gear is .62:1
    Axle Ratio: 3.23:1
    Tire Diameter is 25.66"

Cruising speed being about 60mph would be 1600rpm. :)

But at 75mph its turning 2000rpm.

On the way to road america my AVG speed according to the GPS was 73mph. :) There were sections where I was cruising faster than that.

Ugh, my outback had a cable clutch, while it wasn't awful, it wasn't as good as my current Legacy's hydro clutch, plus in the outback, when I would get in to "spirited" driving mode I had a tendency to snap the stupid cables.

That is, by far, one of the most satisfying things in the world. "snickt, thunk" .

I don't know if this would work for you or not, but here's a link.

It does suck to try and hold a camera and drive in a manual, I'm going to get go-pro here soon myself, should be great for some late night hill runs.

Ahh, saw that. Not solid enough for Track Day stuff. My phone can record for quite a while and the audio/video is pretty decent. But the RAM mount isn't secure enough. Looking for something a little more secure like the GoPro mounts are.

    Hmm, there is this: http://www.lifeproof.com/shop/access...r-gopro-mounts

Apparently it is an adapter for your iphone so it can use go-pro mounts, iirc the go-pro mounts aren't super expensive either.

How did I not find that on google. My Google-Fu failed me. that would be exactly like what I want.

Not that I'd put my camera outside the car, but I'd attach it to the T-top or passenger glass so you could get a "passenger" side view. I need that. Maybe I'll buy it before the Drag rental date. :)

Not sure where you are in the US Tinoman, I know you were interested in the Road America rental. But we have Cordova Dragway rented out all day Sunday May 20th. :) Cordova IL is on the IL/IA border.

In a few weeks I'll have updated times for this thread. I fully expect to have a worse ET, and hopefully a better Trap Speed through less parasitic loss, and a lighter weight.

I actually have to get the TransAm an alignment because it lost enough weight from the conversion that I now have 0* camber on the front tires. Course that means I have to pay for an alignment again, but i dont' usually get those that often.

When I do my heads/cam I'm losing an additional 50lbs off the front of the car too.

I would love to go try that, it's a bit of a drive I'm in PA, but I like driving..obviously.

Unfortunately though, my car isn't ready for it yet. There are a lot of things I need to do..several thousands of dollars worth . And, right now, to make that happen, I'm working seven days a week too. Next year though, I will be ready, and so will the car

I'm guessing a modified BMW 325i based on the Dash layout. Doens't move like any of the stock videos I looked at. So its got some mods I would think.
