I would imagine it would do around mid-13s maybe?

I remember your 205 pugsley. Was a mad car, with the Mi16 in there.

"The Toy" sounds superb though I reckon I'd have shaved another 0.25s or so off possibly dipping below 14 if I'd ran with the 16's on, problem was liek you I was running this car as is, no stripping out, it was my daily car and like you whatever was in it, stayed in it... and I loved the look of the 17" wheels on it... so...

No 1/4 near me, because of this I have only been to the strip once. So usually I use a vbox on country roads late at night.

My average vbox on unprepped street is 11.7@124mph, the time I got to the strip I managed to get to 11.5@125

This is in my daily driver BMW 135i. My track cars are not drag cars and pretty slow in a straight line I would guess they clock around 13-15sec in the qtr.

best in the 2000 vette was 11.7 @123 with 125 shot of nos.... I think it was around 12.5/12.6 on the stock motor with no juice

all runs were done babying the car with no power shifts and easy launches.


havnt been to the strip yet this year, need a rear spring, getting too much wheel hop out of the hole.








and the car can go around corners once in a while too :-)

I can just do mine on the freeway because after 1/4 mile I'm barely above the speed limit.

I have a MarkVI GTi with 255/302 at the wheels. Haven't done a full 1/4 mile in it and plan to this summer now that I've had it worked on. I can pull 0-60 in 5 seconds flat as of now and run 22lbs of boost (and yes it is safe for this motor).

On ramps are my favorite I can hit like 110-120 before I get to the freeway lawl.

Same car as mine, with the same configuration the best slip time I see on the net is a 13.1 @ 106 with 100 octane... His 0-60 was 5.6 seconds thought.

I can nail 5 on 93 octane, it is all about nailing the launch. Might shave off within a second on 1/4 mile? Not sure.

All runs were at Cordova Dragway in Cordova, Illinois USA.

The Toy's best recorded run was 13.35 @ 102.8mph on a 1.93 60' foot.
260hp stock + full bolt-ons. Race weight is 3750lbs with me, laptop bag (25lbs on its own) and various items. I almost never do weight reduction at the track. I remove loose objects but all stuff is in the car (jack, spare, etc...) If I removed the seats/jack/etc I'd get better times but it wouldn't be a "true" measure of how it drives on the street.

Now that the 6spd manual is in I don't expect to touch low 13's really, I don't think I'll be able to launch it and shift it as consistently as needed in the 1/4 mile.

Exhaust cut-out closed. Heating the tire is worth a consistent .25 seconds in the ET.


Exhaust cut-out open. This run I had the cut-out open, but didn't do burnouts so cold tires made the ET slower. Air was also worse. I was fighting a consistent knock condition with the engine at 5800rpm+

Just wanna mention, got this car to and from Road America in Elk Hart Lake wisconson, its nearly a 160 mile trip each way. I averaged 32mpg to Road America, and 35mpg on the way back from RA because Wisconson doesn't have 10% ethanol added to the gas. So it has more BTU/Gallon than my normal blend of fuel in Illinois.

5.7L V8 "gas guzzler" nailed 32mpg US. That sure sounds like a gas guzzler to me! lol.

I've been saying for years/decades that V8s aren't always the guzzlers some think they are, even so, that's good for an older vehicle - what's the 6th gear ratio and cruising RPM for your car, Fruity?

Been a long time but I think it was around 15.2 on 7 cylinders and a slipping clutch - centre tore right out of it on the next run...

[edit] On tarmac hillclimbs I found a wheelspinning start was around a half second slower than a less aggressive start where I fed the power in. I'd expect about the same for the 1/4 mile if you've the power?
Front wheel drive may be even worse, which'll be a problem with the Cally, even if it's rather low powered compared to some of you guys - I figure maybe mid 15's for the NA 2 litre engine?

Took this video this morning on the way to work. However, stupid me did it in a section that started going up hill. Ooops. That slowed down the acceleration. I'll redo it later and post it back up.

However, its still rowing 1st through 3rd, and I found out I can manage to hold the camera with a firm grip on the wheel and still row through the gears. Firm grip on the wheel = somewhat shaky camera holding.
